We are not an allergy-free facility. However, provided that your child has an allergy of ingestion only, our studio should be safe for them as each child prepares his or her own food and simple substitutions or eliminations make it quite possible for us to accommodate their needs.
If your child has a severe allergy, it is best for you to call first so that we may discuss the menu in question. You can contact Tamika (904)562-9120 or info@tamikasschoolofepicure.com We will do our best to accommodate allergies, but we do need advance notice. Please note any allergies when registering for a class.
All classes at Tamika’s School Of Epicure, include all of the food, packaging and tools necessary. Please tie long hair back. Bangs that get in the eyes should be held back with a hat or headband of some sort. Wear sneakers! You will be on your feet for the entire class. Short-sleeves are best. If you would like to bring a water bottle, please label it with your name. Bring a cloth sack or reusable grocery bag to carry your food home! We send home LOTS of food to share and it is sometimes still hot.
It depends on the course. Some courses are designed to build on skill from week to week and therefore require a commitment to the series. We also understand that some students need to try out our class before committing, and we encourage this. Best bet is to call and discuss!
Each class series revolves around a different theme, and each week we cook about 2 new recipes from that theme. The website description of the theme will list most of the recipes that we will be cooking. Kids can be fickle with their tastes and what we know from experience is that kids are more apt to try new foods when they cook them. By giving you an idea of what types of dishes we will be creating, we leave their imaginations open. It also gives us some flexibility with the availability of fresh produce, and sometimes we just get inspired at the very last minute!
This is a safe place each staff and volunteers will have to conduct to a level 2 background.
yes, we request that a apron be purchased for each junior chef. The cost for the apron’s is $26.50.
This help cover a small portion of the cost for facilitating our classes.
We have set up sponsorship opportunities where individuals or businesses can donate money for scholarships for children who come from diverse backgrounds. We also use that money to help offset costs if it's not the whole fee. This depends on the situation. Parents can apply , you can donate to this program online.
Stay in the loop for upcoming classes, new tips and recipes.
